• Benefit for veterans brings bands and brothers together.

Sunday, September 13, the Bar Pilots donated their time and music to a cause that's close to their hearts. Veterans In Action and Lift For The 22, are both non-profit organizations committed to helping returned vets who are having difficulties adjusting to life back home, from PTSD, financial and family stress to high suicide rates. The music launched with Bees In A Bottle, a duo originally from Pennsylvania recently transplanted to Portland. Local trio, Groovebirds followed with a set of blue-eyed soul. The Bar Pilots played almost two hours of original rock and radio covers before the evening wrapped with the organizers joining all the band members on stage for an all-out jam of the Marshall Tucker classic,"Can't You See".

Friends coming together for a good cause and an overflowing donation bin made for a Sunday well spent. Special mention goes to Tara Renee of Girl About Entertainment for coordinating the event and Rob Wessels for producing the event and emcee duties.
